Academic Advisors at UNF are recipients of awards at both the UNF and Advising Organization level.
Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor of the Year
||The Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor Award is
given annually to a member of the Academic Advising Council (AAC) at UNF.
Candidates must demonstrate outstanding contributions to the field of academic
advising, genuine concern for students, excellent communication and
collaboration skills, professionalism, and philosophical beliefs that are
consistent with UNF’s mission. It is a prestigious honor that shines light on a
deserving member of the advising community.
Melissa Tucker of the Hicks Honors College won the
Outstanding Undergraduate Advisor Award for 2018-2019. Melissa demonstrates
great compassion in helping students recognize their respective roles and
responsibilities and how best to achieve them. She inspires students to meet or
exceed their expectations. Melissa is highly regarded among her students,
colleagues, and faculty; she is a “welcomed addition to any group”, as one
colleague said. An Honors student describes Melissa as “one of the most
resourceful and helpful members of the University faculty and staff. She is far
more than just an advisor – she is a mentor, role model and a passionate
