Department of Public Health

The Department of Public Health includes programs in Public Health and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, offering both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The programs in this department prepare students to work in public or private healthcare settings. These programs also enhance the careers of students who currently work in public health or mental health counseling positions. Opportunities for field experience and study abroad are available to all public health students.


Each program has specific program competencies based on national accrediting bodies and professional organizations. 


The respective programs and their accrediting agencies are listed below:

  • Bachelor of Science in Public Health, aligned with the competencies delineated by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing;
  • Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP);
  • Master of Public Health, accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH);

  • Graduate Certificate in Public Health
