Sharon Ashton, assistant vice president for Public Relations, has been promoted to vice president for Public Relations.
McCullen has worked in development for Institutional Advancement at UNF for a decade, most recently serving as assistant vice president and campaign director for The Power of Transformation fundraising campaign. She will fill the position left vacant by Pierre Allaire, who resigned, until a national search for a permanent replacement has been found.
“Ann has worked closely with most of our top donors and volunteers and is a solid manager,” said UNF President John Delaney. “I appreciate her willingness to take on these additional responsibilities.”
As assistant vice president and campaign director, McCullen managed the Campaign Steering Committee and worked closely with campaign co-chairs during The Power of Transformation capital campaign, which exceeded the $110M goal. Prior to coming to UNF, she served as major gifts director for Habitat for Humanity International, where she identified and solicited individual major donors in four states for the $500M More Than Houses Campaign.
Sharon Ashton was promoted to vice president for Public Relations. She has been with UNF for nine years, advancing the University by strengthening its public image through media relations, marketing, Web and special events. President Delaney reorganized Institutional Advancement, moving the Department of Public Relations to a unit within the President’s Office.
Ashton is responsible for creating communication strategies and tactics to build brand awareness and increase UNF’s positive image. She serves on the Crisis Management Team as the University’s public information officer and is a member of the executive staff, providing advice directly to UNF’s president.
