UNF names Canadian to Auxiliary Services post

Vince Smyth, an experienced administrator from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada, has been selected as the director of Auxiliary Services at the University of North Florida.

Smyth, 45, starts July 31 and will be responsible for overseeing a variety of UNF functions including parking, food service, the bookstore, print shop and related auxiliary services.

A graduate of Mount Allison University, Smyth has held a variety of positions there including being director of administrative services since 1992. His responsibilities included the bookstore, mail services, the print shop, convenience copying, food services, property acquisitions sales and rentals, insurance and risk management, an ice rink, a 1,500-seat concert hall and student housing.

Mount Allison is a four-year undergraduate university with about 2,250 students in south-eastern New Brunswick.
