Provost Earle C. Traynham

Earle C. Traynham received his B.A. in Marketing, his MBA and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of South Carolina.  He began his UNF career in 1973, when he came as an assistant professor of economics.  Traynham's administrative service includes department chair, assistant dean and associate dean.  He served as dean of the Coggin College of Business from 1994 until 2003.  Following his tenure at UNF, Traynham has served as visiting professor at international universities including University of Provence, Warsaw University, and University of Cooperative Education, Bad Mergentheim, Germany.  He has published many articles and books and presented at a number of national and international conferences.  Traynham's community service is extensive and includes most recently, Executive Director of the Duval County Research and Development Authority.  He has also served on the boards of Habijax, River Garden Hebrew Home, Enterprise North Florida and participated in the First and Third Annual Governor's Leadership Conferences. 


During his years at UNF, Dr. Traynham contributed to a number of university-wide and college-level committees.   President Delaney appointed Traynham as Interim Provost in 2013 and he was offered the permanent position in July, 2015.
