Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Studies

The Office of Undergraduate Studies in Academic Affairs offers administrative support for programs, policies, and initiatives designed to enhance and enrich the undergraduate experience at the University of North Florida and works to advance the goals of the university as they pertain to excellence and quality in undergraduate education, undergraduate student learning, undergraduate student development, and academic student services across all colleges and departments.

More specifically, Goal 1 of UNF’s strategic plan Cultivate a learning environment that supports intellectual curiosity, academic achievement, and personal growth – includes several strategies that are central to the mission of Undergraduate Studies:

  • Develop interconnected programs that academically engage and socially integrate incoming students at all levels;
  • Create and communicate opportunities for personal growth and pathways to academic progress and success;
  • Provide diverse opportunities for fostering interaction among students, faculty, and staff;
  • Provide transformational learning experiences for all students.

Programmatic areas of emphasis

Consistent with the strategic plan goal #1 and accompanying strategies, Undergraduate Studies focuses on programs such as first-year initiatives, General Education, academic advising, transfer student transition, Transformational Learning Opportunities (TLOs), the American Democracy Project, and UNF Reads!
