CAREER OBJECTIVE:

To be involved in a quality teaching and research program in Electrical/Computer Engineering. Special interest is in microprocessors / microcontrollers, embedded system design, digital systems design, computer architecture, computer-aided-instruction/design (CAI/CAD), and multivalued logic.

  • COURSES TAUGHT:

    Taught over eighteen (18) different courses in the Electrical & Computer engineering curriculum ranging from fundamental required courses such as Electronics and Electrical Circuits to advanced elective courses in computer hardware and software.

    LABORATORIES DEVELOPED & TAUGHT:

    Developed and taught the following laboratories: Introduction to Computer Engineering, Digital Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Microprocessors & Applications, and Software Engineering.

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Received eleven (11) Summer Awards valued at over $16,000.00 to attend one- and two-week long workshops to stay abreast in new technologies with leading firms such as AT&T, IBM, Xilinx, Motorola, and Intel.
  • Received over $180,000.00 worth of equipment grants to support undergraduate teaching & research.

  • Refereed Papers: Authored/co-authored thirteen (13) refereed papers in national and int'l publications such as Int'l Journal of Electronics, Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computation, IEEE Transactions on Education, ASEE Journal of Computers in Education, and Proc. of the Int'l Symposium on Multivalued Logic.
  • Conference Papers: Authored/co-authored sixteen (16) papers in the proceedings of int'l, national, and regional conferences such as the Int'l Symposium of Mini & Microcomputers & Their Applications, Frontiers in Engineering Education, Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) SoutheastCon, and SouthCon.
  • SERVICES:

  • Professional: Member of the IEEE Standards Committee on Microprocessors, the IEEE Multiple-Valued Logic Technical Committee, and FES Steering Committee for Engineering week. Program co-organizer and sessions chairman in national and regional technical conferences. Reviewer for refereed publications such as the "IEEE Transactions on Education" and "Mathematical Reviews."
  • University: Served in over twenty university/college/department committees such as P&T, APC, Honor Council, faculty/chairs/dean searches, etc.
  • Public: Initiated and coordinated JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society) and SECME (Southeastern Consortium for Minority in Engineering) programs. Member of Duval County School Board Advisory Council on Magnet Programs for Science, Mathematics, and & Pre-Engineering, and Jacksonville INROADS advisory Committee, an enrichment program for minority high school students.
