This course is meant to be an extension of the basics of reporting and newswriting as learned in the introductory Writing for the Mass Media Class. Students will be expected to study grammar, spelling, punctuation and Associated Press Style on their own, as little time can be spent on this in class. Regular quizzes will be given on GSP and AP style, as well as on current events and general knowledge. Using links found on my Grammar links page will be helpful. Doing ALL the lessons and quizzes at Newsroom101 will be required, so you may wish to get started there right away. We will have a discussion board set up at the class BlackBoard site.
