Welcome to the land of hot days cool nights, temperate breezes and friendly people. You'll revel in Jamaica's many pleasures, which might include sailing in warm, crystalline waters or exploring lush tropical forests where cool rivers tumble over scenic waterfalls. As soon as you arrive, you'll discover why I go back year after year.

Jamaica's unique identity is a result of the combination of its location in the temperate Caribbean, the interaction of races and cultures that have had roles in shaping the nation and a history marked by a desire for freedom and self-determination. Together, these elements have formed Jamaica's character and instilled in its people a feeling of pride in their country and its traditions and achievements.

The island's rich history and culture are clearly evident in it's distinctive cities and its charmiing villages. Jamaica is a land of extra ordinary scenic beauty and never-ending delights. On Jamaica, it's easy to find your place in the sun. While Kingston, with its vibrant cultural climate, is the island's best known city, you'll find that Jamaica's other towns are just as appealing. And each has its own unique attration, from the great houses of Montego Bay and the striking screnery of Ocho Rios to the provincial pleasures of unspoiled Port Antionio and Negril.

  • Jamaica's national motto, OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE accurately reflects the melange of races and cultures that constitute the nation. Jamaicans speak a patios, a blend of English, African and Taino words, which may at first sound incomprehensible to vistors. But if you and the Jamaican you wish to communicate with both slow down your speech, you'll find each other far more understandable. Jamaicans tend to be friendly, persistently searching for a way to be of assistance.

When you think of Jamaican, what comes to your mind?
