Fall 2009 -- Statistics for Engineers
Prerequisites: Calculus I, and II

Course Outline:
  Chapters 1 - 3: Summarizing Univariate and Bivariate data and Probablities (4 weeks)
  Chapter 4: Distributions for Discrete and Continuous Random Variables (3 weeks)
  Chapters 5 - 7: Inferences for one and two Samples(5 weeks)
  Chapter 8: Inference in Linear Models (1 week)

Course Grading: Homework will be assigned, but will not be graded. However there
will be ten course quizzes, each being made up of homework problems from the previous
assignment. These quizzes are closed books and closed notes and scheduled below.
Quizzes will be worth 20% of your final grade. You will have two noncomprehensive hour
exams through the semester. For these tests, you will be permitted to use both sides of one
regular sheet of paper for notes. Each of these exams will be worth 25% of your final grade.
No make-up quiz or exam will be given. A comprehensive final exam at the end of the semester
will count 30% towards your final grade. You may use both sides of two regular sheets of paper
for class notes in the final.
