Social Life

The social scene in Jacksonville offers something for everyone. Socializing is a great way to learn about American society as well as to tell others of customs in your own country. But, a social life will not come to you so it is important to get out and to get involved. Most Americans are friendly and up for conversation, so don't be shy.

Campus Involvement

Getting involved in one or more associations is a really good way to meet a diverse group of people outside of your International Student Network. There is a complete list of current clubs and contacts at UNF. If you are studying business, the business college will ask you to be a member of at least one of the business clubs. Many International Students are a member of the International Business Society. The club organizes company visits, guest speakers from local companies but also fun trips and parties on the weekends. It is a great place to connect and get to know new people! Find the right one for you!

City Events

You will receive a lot of information about events on the campus but few about events in Jacksonville. Go out and look for them!! The city always has ongoing events that can be great experiences. Some examples are the Blues/Rock festival every year at the beaches, the art walk the first Wednesday of each month in Downtown, and Dancing in the Streets at the beaches.
