Karthikeyan Umapathy is currently working as an Associate Professor at the School of Computing, University of North Florida (UNF). He received his PhD in Information Sciences and Technology from the Pennsylvania State University. His research interests center on designing and developing complex information systems, analyzing web service standards, and empirically investigating information technology (IT) standardization processes. He uses service learning to provide real-world software development experience for students by identifying projects from Non-Profit and Small-business organizations. He works closely with local software development companies to engage them within his courses. He creates wide variety of opportunities within and outside of the curriculum to help students gain technical expertise and experience on providing professional service.
He provides technology consultancy services for small businesses, startup companies, and non-profit organizations. He has expertise on mobile and web application development. He provides consulting on technology planning, business plan, lean startup methodology, product development, and market testing.
Get Involved with FL-DSSG
The FL-DSSG pilot program was kicked off on June 5th. The 2017 FL-DSSG Summer Internship program supports five UNF interns and three community partners. Internship is a 10 week program that runs from June 5th to August 11th.
