I love my hybrid!
I own a Honda Civic hybrid (gen 1) and love it. It's the same body as a standard Civic (so has plenty of room for me and my family) and it's got enough pick-up for my tastes (I don't 'floor it' when I start, and I live in lovely, flat Florida). During winter months, I get about 48-50mpg. During spring/summer, when I have to run the A/C (and thereby use more gasoline), I average about 42-43. Still much better over my last car, which averaged about 25! (In defense of newer vehicles, my husband's 2005 Focus gets mid-30s.)
