My cross-stitch LiveJournal community is doing a stitch olympics to coincide with the 2008 Bejing Summer Olympics. So here we go!
Bronze Medal: Finish Arthur & Guinevere
Silver Medal: Finish "Sir Ver"
Gold Medal: Mount and frame "Oh bother", turn Arthur & Guinevere into a pouch, finish Sir Ver (frame or pillow)
World Record: Do the "Stitch Olympics sampler" stitch-a-long
August 11, 2008
3 days in, and the serious challenge to finishing has reared its cute little head, as I thought: my 3-year-old is all "me, me, me!" It makes it really hard to to things that *I* want to do, but so far I'm coping.
Challenge number 2: I've found some possibly serious mistakes in the nearly-done 1-over-1 part of Guinevere that may force me to start her all over again. If I do *that*, then my gold is seriously in doubt to say nothing of the world record. Darn it! I'd only made silver in 2006, so I was really hoping to do gold this year.
So, here's where Arthur is today. I can't believe it's been over a year since I've touched him. All that has to be done is the face detail backstitching and the name. For those familiar with the pattern, I'm not doing the background. 1) I can't easily find #12 pearl cotton and I have no desire to attempt to order it and 2) I just plain don't feel like it...

Well, I got them done.

I only made the bronze this year. I definately bit off more than I could chew with this group. Maybe next time.
