I presented a talk at the Joint  American
Mathematical  Society and
Mathematical  Association of  America's  National Conference on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in Washington, D.C.

Welcome to my Web Page. As you can see this page includes links to my personal as well as my academic life. I invite you to browse the site and get to know me, the people in my life, and my work.

I am an analytic number theorist who currently specializes in properties of graphs over rings and the related Fourier and Radon analysis which is associated with these graphs. (If you don't know what that means, don't worry...hardly anyone else does either)! I also love Complex Analysis in Single Variables.

I graduated with my Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego in 1998. My advisor Audrey Terras is a wonderful mathematician and friend. I am also grateful for all of the help from Harold Stark and Ron Evans. Fan Chung Graham is also an influence of mine.

There are four men in my life who are very important to me: Ethan, Noah, Brad and my cats Paco and Chico. My cat Boo died of cancer a few years ago, but he was a valued member of my little family, so I mention him. I also have photos of some of my trips: Breckenridge, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Hawaii, Sweden, Denmark, England, Whistler, B.C. and Big Sky, Montana, river rafting in Venezuela, scuba diving in Costa Rica and Aruba, and sunning in Turks and Caicos. In past years I have visited 24 countries on 3 continents.

Lyrics by Cake
Reluctantly crouched at the starting line,
Engines pumping and thumping in time.
The green light flashes, the flags goes up,
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup.

They deftly manouver and muscle for rank,
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank,
Wreckless and wild they pour thru the turns,
Their prowess is potent and secretly stern.

As they speed thru the finish the flags go down.
The fans get up, and get out of town.
The arena is empty except for one man,
Still driving and striving as fast as he can

The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup,
But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns,
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

He's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
She's all alone, all alone in her time of need.

Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
He's going the distance.

Yeah!

No trophy, no flowers, no flash bulbs, no wine.
He's haunted by something he cannot define.
Bowel shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse,
Assail him, impale him with monster truck force.
In his mind he's still driving, still making the grade.
She's hoping in time that her memories will fade,
Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.

The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns,
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

Cause he's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
She's all alone, all alone in her time of need.

Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse,
He's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse!

He's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
He's going the distance...
