What is Identity Theft?
Identity theft is when someone gains access to one's personal information that can be used to make unauthorized purchases, steal assets, and even worse YOUR IDENTITY!!
The most common types of identity theft is over the internet and disposing identifiable information properly.

How Do You Know?

- Unauthorized transactions
- Bill collectors are constantly contacting you
- Questionable credit score without explanation
Preventing Identity Theft

- Change passwords often
- Shred all identifiable information you recieve through postal mail
- Don't give out personal information to those you do not know
- Don't fall for random emails that indicate you may have won the lottery etc, and they need you to reply with personal information
- When submitting information online, make sure that is a lock symbol in the status bar of your web page indicating it is secure
- Use spam filters
- Stay up to date with anti-virus software and always report suspicious activity on your accounts
