William Stuart Born: Jan. 1, 1847 in Menallen Twp, Adams County, PA.

On 1864.08.30 enlisted at 17 (with John D. MILLER's mark) into the 207th PA Vols at Oakville.

In the 1870 Federal Census in Newville, Dickinson Twp, Cumberland County, PA.

Was part of the First PA Colony to Kansas leaving April 1st, 1872 from Newville, Cumberland County, with 20 families via train coaches and baggage cars for goods, to the 1871 formed town of Wilson, Ellsworth County, Kansas. Brothers Eli F., Henry H. and sister Elizabeth DELLINGER' family were on the trip.
Arrived April 4th, 1872 and took a homestead northeast of Wilson, where the family made their home until 1913. He retired and moved to the town of Wilson and was a school teacher.

With no Lutheran Church, they united with the Methodists and joined the Wilson Methodist Episcopal Church in 1919.

Died: Nov. 25, 1927 at Bazine, Ness County, KS

Buried at Wilson Cemetery, Wilson, Ellsworth County, KS.
