Served as Design and Evaluation Consultant for the three-year, Jacksonville Urban Educational Partnership Project (JUEP), a $1.3 million U.S. DOE Improvement and Reform of Schools and Teaching Program. (1995-1997)
Served as Design, Implementation and Evaluation Consultant for the COEHS Alliance for Tomorrow's Teachers project ($400,000) which received the 1993 Christa McAuliffe Showcase Award from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. (1991-1994)
Organized and conducted three major conferences for educators - Instructional Technologies (1992); Multicultural Education (1993); and Classroom Applications of Multiple Intelligences. (1995)
Directed the development of an M.Ed. program for 65 educators in Belize, Central America, and new BAE programs in Pre-K - Primary Education; Middle School Education; and Sport Leadership. (1996-present)

PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE:

1980-1987

Assistant Dean and Associate Professor, College of Education and Human Services, University of North Florida.

Served as NCATE Institutional Director, 1984-1987. Initial accreditation was granted to all teacher education programs by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Was involved in the development of an academic reorganization of the departments of the College. This change reduced administrative costs, made our structure more easily understood, enabled our faculty to initiate inter-disciplinary programs within the College and University, and expanded the mission of the College.
Participated in the development and helped guide to approval a plan for the annual assignment and evaluation of faculty academic activity. The plan clarified College promotion, tenure, and merit decisions for faculty teaching, scholarship, and service.
Served as Director of Internship Programs. Responsible for placing all undergraduate and graduate pre-interns, interns and practicum students in school and agency settings. (1980-1984)
Developed non-credit Teacher Education Center programs with schools districts throughout Florida; Gained $1,707,065 in external funding. (1980-1987)
Provided liaison for the continuing education credit programs of the College offered at many off-campus locations throughout northeast Florida.
Assisted in administering the annual contract between the Florida Board of Regents and the UNF United Faculty of Florida Union.
Chaired and/or served as a member of numerous department, college, and university faculty, staff, and administrative search committees.
Continued to teach, do research, publish and provide university and public service.

1978-1980

Interim Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, College of Education, University of North Florida.

Served on the Dean's Executive Council and the College Cabinet.
Had responsibility for the operation and staffing of the College Learning Laboratory, continuing education credit programs at off-campus locations, and the student advisement program. Provided leadership in the acquisition of numerous research grants and community service projects.
Was active in alumni affairs, governance issues (elected Vice President of the University Faculty Association and Chair of the University Rules and Appeals Committee); helped develop an award-winning competency-based teacher education program.
Wrote the in-service education plan for the Hastings Teacher Corps Project, a 1.4 million dollar, federally funded, 4-year grant to the College of Education and the St. Johns County Public School District.
Increased student enrollment in department programs and increased faculty employment during summer terms.
Encouraged and supported the development of numerous projects, such as:
- Law Education (personally obtained student scholarship support from the Florida Bar Association);
- Newspaper as an Educational Tool (personally obtained student scholarship support from the Florida Publishing Company and the UNF Foundation);
- The Learning Game (a training program for school volunteers in tutoring disadvantaged students for improving reading skills);
- A plan for a master's degree thesis and a comprehensive examination;co-authored a graduate handbook for student advisement.
Continued to teach, do research, publish, and participate in university and public service.
