Dr. Dennis M. Holt
Short Biography

For the past 25 years I have concentrated my professional career on the
effective uses of curriculum and instruction to prepare teachers and students
for successful careers in education. Currently, my work is focused on
restructuring teacher education through K-12 professional development
classrooms, portfolio assessment, and the role of educational technology in
college and school teaching and learning. My past research focused on
competency-based education and teacher testing. Over the past few years, my
work has featured an interest in educational assessment which uses student and
preservice teacher portfolios as a means of documenting and evaluating the
effectiveness of teaching and learning.
