This is Guinea, the guinea pig. Yes, that is his name and he knows it too. He was a birthday gift for my son a few years ago. I'm not sure how long they live but he's still going strong. He loves attention and fresh veggies. He is a very low maintenance pet. All the other animals seem to get along with him well.
Last but not least the fish and snapping turtle. They don't have names but they sure are entertaining to watch (no pictures because of the "flash factor"). The fish are africans and a couple of feeder fish left over from our last turtle (a slider who was recently returned to the wild). Luckily this turtle is to small to eat the fish, those africans are expensive.
That concludes the overall view of my "zoo". If you lack a companion in your life adopt a pet and save a life or make a life better. There are so many homeless animals in the world today it's disheartening. Also, if you own or adopt a pet please spay or neuter your pet. Over population of animals leads to certain death. There are many places in Jacksonville to adopt a pet.
If you have extra money to donate to an organization, please donate to one of the local animal shelters (reputable of coarse). Many times the organizations don't have enough money to take care of these animals because there are so many.
There are many agencies in Jacksonville that can help you find that special critter, whatever it may be.
Below is a list of adoption agencies and referal services that can help.
