CQ Transcriptions (available through LexisNexis Academic)
CQ Transcriptions through LexisNexis contains transcripts of 4 to 5 complete congressional hearings per day as well as press briefings from the State, Justice, and Defense departments, presidential news conferences and press briefings, and speeches and press conferences by national newsmakers. The transcripts are updated throughout the day. Covers 1995 to date. Link to LexisNexis Academic from the library’s General databases. Click the News tab. In the search boxes enter CQ in one and the name of the person (last name suffices) in another box and the topic (gun control, abortion, economy, etc.) in another box. Use the down arrow in the Sources box and choose Transcripts. Click Search.

Academic OneFile from Gale
Provides coverage of over 12000 academic journals. More than 4000 of these are available in full text with no embargo on content. A majority of the publications have at least some full text. Also covers the full text of the New York Times since 1985, the Times of London since 1985, and the Financial Times since 1996.
LexisNexis Academic
Provides coverage of newspapers, newswires, radio and television news broadcasts, and numerous other print and electronic sources worldwide. Searches can be limited to specific types of sources (news, magazine articles, transcripts, etc.) or to a particular source. Coverage is from around 1968 to date. NewsBank
Provides coverage of national and regional newspapers and of news magazines. Includes America’s Newspapers and America’s News Magazines. America’s Newspapers covers over 600 papers from all 50 states. As part of America’s Newspapers, Florida Newspapers provides full text coverage of over 30 Florida papers, including the Florida Times-Union, the Miami Herald, the Tallahassee Democrat, and the Tampa Tribune. America’s News Magazines covers full text articles from 28 different national magazines, such as Foreign Affairs, Newsweek, People Weekly, and Time. Omnifile Full Text Mega Edition
Provides indexing and abstracts for more than 4000 magazines and journals. Over 2300 of these publications have full text available through the database. Coverage is from 1982 to date.
