I am a quantitative and applied-experimental methodologist who primarily teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in research methodology. I deeply value my students' learning and work to support it at every step. In my courses, I use active learning techniques that include practice applications, frequent small group discussions, and regular writing assignments among other practices. I provide frequent, specific, timely, and detailed feedback to my students throughout the semester. I give students numerous opportunities to receive formative and summative evaluations. Consistent with my epistemological stance and research agenda, I construct my courses and teaching techniques based on the empirical literature and I regularly empirically examine course effectiveness. Additionally, I work with UNF's Office of Faculty Enhancement to encourage and support similar discipline relevant efforts by other faculty members across the University. As a student, you can expect to work hard and often in my courses. But, as a result, you will gain a deeper appreciation of scientific methodology and its application to psychological science and your life's pursuits.
