How was SCT Selected?

The universities within Florida requested and received state approval to begin the process of developing an integrated financial system to replace the currently used and limited state SAMAS and the Financial Aid SSDS systems.

As a result, UNF joined the University of Florida (UF), Florida State University (FSU) and the University of West Florida to form a consortium and issue an Invitation to Negotiation (ITN). The ITN procurement process is commonly used in these types of technology-oriented product acquisitions. Early in the process, UWF decided to drop out of the Consortium. The three remaining universities developed a "short list" of vendors ~ SAP, Oracle, People Soft and SCT. Each vendor provided a one-week product demonstration (SAP withdrew from the process and did not demo their product), geared toward scripts provided by the consortium members. Each of the consortium institutions provided subject area experts to form teams to adequately evaluate each vendor’s product demonstration.

Upon conclusion of the product demonstration phase of the ITN, the majority of the consortium members elected to choose PeopleSoft. At that juncture, UNF decided to withdraw from the consortium and negotiated a purchase with their selected vendor, SCT , to assist in implementing Banner Finance, Human Resources, Student, and Financial Aid.
