  1. OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE
  2. To ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus, this document delineates and provides authority for enforcement of the campus policy on pets or other animals on campus.

  3. STATEMENT OF POLICY
  4. Other than service animals, animals used in study or scientific coursework, or animals approved for special events on campus, including all buildings, common or public areas, and nature trails, pet animals are not allowed on the University of North Florida campus unless permission has been obtained through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.

  5. STATEMENT OF PROCEDURES

    “Pets” includes mammals, insects/arachnids, amphibians, birds, and reptiles.

    Violations of this policy are to be reported to the head of the affected department/unit and/or to the campus Police Department.

    Requests for an exemption or special permission may be applied for through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
