Change a degree-major of an existing program
Bachelor of Science – Civil Engineering Major

Summary of the Changes:

This request is aimed at revising the technical elective selection to allow students to take more Civil Engineering discipline courses by limiting non-core electives to six credit hours. Students will have two areas of technical electives from where they can choose courses. From the main area they will need to choose at least 9 credits, the courses on this area remain the same, with the exemption of eliminating CGN4905- Directed Individual Study and CGN4949 - Co-Op Work Experience. From the non-core courses, students will be able to choose at most 6 credits. These non-core courses are as follows: CGN4905 - Directed Individual Study, CGN4949 - Co-Op Work Experience, BCN3611C - Cost Estimating and BCN4720 - Project Planning and Scheduling. The Civil Engineering faculty intend for the Civil Engineering graduates to have more fundamental knowledge in Civil Engineering sub-disciplines. The total credit hours per degree remain the same.
