School of Music –Graduate

Change a degree-major- concentration of an existing program
Master of Music- Music Performance Major-Strings Concentration

Summary of the Changes:

This package is adding harp courses to the Strings concentration of the Master of Music degree in Music Performance. Currently, the program of study contains courses for violin, viola, cello, and double bass. However, the concentration is meant to encompass all the orchestral string instruments, and when the degree was created the harp component of it was left out. This package seeks to remedy this oversight.
As part of this package, three new courses are being created and added to the program of study (all of which have counterparts for the other four string instruments in the existing POS):
MVS6xxx - Applied Harp (added to all four terms)
MVS6xxx - Harp Orchestra Repertory (added to terms 1 and 2)
MVS6xxx - Advanced Harp Pedagogy (added to term 3)
Two additional very small corrections are being made to the POS as part of this package:
1) In term 1, the credit hours for MUS5711 Bibliography are being added.
2) In term 2, the spelling of "Perspectives" for MUH6684 and MUT6761 is being fixed.
