Hicks Honors College – Undergraduate

Change a degree-major of an existing program
Associate in Arts – Exploratory Major

Summary of the Changes:

The Hicks Honors College proposes a change in the graduation requirements from the interdisciplinary Honors minor to a 15-credit program. This proposal has been developed to give students maximum flexibility, in order to retain Honors students, increase student engagement, and increase graduation rates. It is extremely important to put in place this interim solution, while the Hicks Honors College creates a new and efficient Honors curriculum.
In order to graduate with University Honors, students must meet the following requirements:
1) Complete 15 credits of Honors-designated coursework (which for FTIC’s would normally include IDH 1923 Honors First Year Colloquium [3 cr], and [H] ENC 1143 [3 cr] Rhetoric and Narrative [3]).
2) Achieve a minimum 3.4 UNF GPA at the time of graduation, and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
3) Complete a Capstone experience no sooner than 2 years before graduation.
