Leadership, School Counseling, & Sports Management – Graduate

Change a degree-major-concentration of an existing program
Master of Education – Educational Leadership Major –
Educational Tech Leadership Concentration

Summary of the Changes:

Change the name of the concentration from "Educational Technology Leadership" to "Educational Technology, Training & Development". The name change is to better reflect the program's open focus for teachers, educational designers, and trainers. This name change should better identify the concentration with similarly titled programs nationwide, and to communicate more clearly the concentration's ranges for students interested in a variety of teacher, educational designer and trainer positions. There are no changes in courses.

Leadership, School Counseling, & Sports Management – Graduate

Add a new concentration to an existing program
Master of Education - Educational Leadership Major –
Early Childhood Educational Leadership Concentration

Summary of the Changes:

This program will prepare educational leaders working in public and private Early Childhood Education programs. The program will include existing Educational Leadership courses and existing Early Childhood Education courses. No new courses are required. The program is a 42 credit hour M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and the program within the degree is Early Childhood Educational Leadership. The program includes 6 credit hours that are COEHS requirements for all master's degrees, 18 credit hours in Educational Leadership (Department of Leadership, School Counseling and Sport Management), 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education (Department of Childhood Education, Literacy and TESOL) and a 3 credit hour field experience in an Early Childhood Education setting.
The program will be hosted in the Department of Leadership, School Counseling and Sport Management as that department has an existing M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. There are multiple tracks within that degree and the Early Childhood Educational Leadership program will be added to that group of student degree choices. Faculty are from both of the departments above and students with undergraduate degrees in fields acceptable for admission to graduate work in either department will be accepted into the program. Typically those undergraduate degrees are in early childhood education, elementary education and secondary education.
