Criminology and Criminal Justice – Graduate

Change a degree-major of an existing program
MS in Criminal Justice - Criminal Justice Major

Summary of the Changes:

An APC package was submitted in 2012 in which a change to CJC 5020 was intended for change to CCJ 6992. The degree program was modified with all changes made except for the numbering of this course. I am asking that the number be changed to CCJ 6992 History and Philosophy of Corrections. The department brochures for the MSCJ show this course as one of the required courses for the MSCJ degree.

020

An APC package was submitted in 2012 in which CJC 5020 was intended to be changed to CCJ 6992. The degree program submitted to APC was modified with all changes made except for the numbering of this course. I am asking that the number be changed to CCJ 6992 History and Philosophy of Corrections. The department brochures for the MSCJ show this course numbered as CCJ 6992 as one of the required courses for the MSCJ degree. I was not at UNF when the APC package was submitted in 2012. My understanding is that the rationale for changing CJC 5020 to a 6000 level course was that all of the core courses in the revised program were to be at a 6000 level so that core courses would only include graduate students.

New Course Description:

An in-depth analysis in the history of social responses to deviance and crime and their underlying philosophical bases. Includes exploration of ancient and traditional punishments, the penitentiary and reformatory movement in the U.S., and analysis of current philosophical movements which affect modern practices.

English – Graduate

Change a degree-major-concentration of an existing program
Master of Arts – English Major Composition and Rhetoric Concentration

Summary of the Changes:

We request that the Plan of Study for the Composition and Rhetoric Concentration be revised to match the revised requirements of the MA in English. Specifically, we request the POS be revised to remove the courses that previously fulfilled that requirement and to change to the courses that have been added to fulfill the final requirement. Add AML 6506 Studies in Early American Literature; AML 6507 Studies in Later American Literature; ENL 6502 Studies in Early British Literature; ENL 6509 Studies in Later British Literature; ENG 6855 Topics in Cultural Studies; and LIT 6009 Studies in Genre. Remove CRW 6331 Poetry Workshop; CRW 6205 ST Creative Writing; CRW 6130 Fiction Workshop; ENL 6455 Studies in British Literature; and AML 6455 Studies in American Literature. Total credits remain unchanged.
The word "of" in the following line "A B.A. in English of related field with a G.P.A. of 3.0" needs to be changed to "or."
