Accounting and Finance - Undergraduate

Add a new course Financial Modeling (3 crs) FIN Senior (4xxx) XXX
Prerequisites:
None
Co-requisites:
None
Course Description:

Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor is required. This course will teach the user intense Microsoft Excel-based financial modeling. While we start with some basic functions, the course involves very advanced finance from other finance courses. Therefore, an understanding of basic corporate finance, investment, and derivatives theories is assumed and not the focus of this course. Rather, the focus in this course is on teaching the user how to model a particular financial theorem in Microsoft Excel. For example, you will learn how to estimate betas and the security market line in Microsoft Excel, but an understanding of the topic is assumed.

International Business - Undergraduate

Change a degree-major of an existing program

Bachelor of Business Admin. – International Business Major

Summary of the Changes:

The Double Degree program with Euromed was approved by APC and now SACS. This program requires an 18 credit internship but GEB 3361 is a 3 credit class. Further we intend to develop additional double degree programs that might have different internship requirements. As a result, we would like to make the internship credits variable from 1-20 so that future programs will have more flexibility based on the needs of the partner.

In the Euromed Double degree Program listed the Bachelors Thesis as 3 credits for students completing the thesis at Euromed and 2 credits for the students completing the thesis at UNF. We would like to change it to 2 credits at Euromed to make the programs equivalent. Both programs would then be 148 hours.

We have gotten the Double Degree program with Euromed approved by APC and now SACS. This program requires an 18 credit internship but GEB 3361 is a 3 credit class. The current International Business major in the BBA program will be unaffected by this change.

Summary of the Changes:

Currently International Business majors must do;
Experience
All International Business & Economics majors in the Coggin College of Business are required to have an international experience to graduate. Most students choose to fulfill this requirement by studying abroad.
We propose to change this requirement to a minimum of four weeks.
