This course is required for journalism majors. We need to add JOU 3204 Principles of Journalism as a prerequisite to bring the journalism track into alignment with other Communication tracks that require a principles class. At the same time, we would like remove MMC3614 Mass Communication Theories and Effects as a prerequisite since students do not need the content from this class to learn to edit newspapers.

Physics - Undergraduate

Change a degree-major of an existing program
Bachelor of Science - Physics Major

Summary of the Changes:
We are adding a new optics laboratory component to the Optics Lecture course, PHY 3424, and therefore we need to change the current course to a "C" and add one credit hour to the current course. The optics lab will greatly enhance the student's understanding in their optics lecture course. The traditional physics program of study is attached. The degree requires 120 hours; this change increases the Major Requirements from 33 to 34 credits, and reduces the Free Electives from 18 to 17 credits.

The course consists of three hours lecture and three hours laboratory each week. (A $25 equipment lab fee will be assessed.)
