Change an existing course Intro to Teaching Profession EDF Freshman (1xxx) 005
We are requesting to change the course description of EDF1005 (3 ) Introduction to the Teaching Profession in order to deter students from taking the course concurrently with EDF2085 (3) Introduction to Diversity for Educators. The following sentence will be added to the current course description: "It is highly recommended that this course not be taken concurrently with EDF2085 Introduction to Diversity for Educators."
New Course Description:
This is a survey course including historical, sociological and philosophical foundations of education, governance and finance of education, educational policies, legal, moral and ethical issues and the professionalism of teaching. Students are required to complete a minimum of 18 hours of field-based experiences with children and youth in schools or similar settings.
