Actress and Author Lisa Oz Featured Speaker at Annual Luncheon

The University of North Florida’s “Us” Women and Girls’ Health Initiative will feature actress, writer and producer Lisa Oz at its annual educational luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Hyatt Regency, located on Jacksonville’s riverfront at 225 East Coastline Drive. She will discuss “East Meets West: Integrative Medicine.” Check-in and registration begins at 10:45 a.m.

Oz is a frequent co-host of The Dr. Oz Show on Oprah & Friends’ XM radio telecast and has co-authored three New York Times best-selling books, including the “YOU: The Owner’s Manual” series. She is a Reiki Master and has spoken widely of her insights into energy and health.

She is president of Ozworks LLC, a media and investment consulting company that she founded, and directs Pine Room Pictures, a production company specializing in family-friendly media. Oz received her bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College and attended Columbia University’s Union Theological Seminary.

Tickets for this event are $50 per person ($25 tax deductible) or $500 for sponsored tables of 10 ($250 tax deductible). Sponsorship opportunities as well as exhibitor tables are still available. Participants don’t have to be a member of “Us” to attend the luncheon; however, a special opportunity to join the “Us” Women and Girls’ Health Initiative is offered at a reduced price of $40 with the purchase of a $50 luncheon ticket.

The purpose of UNF’s “Us” Women and Girls’ Health Initiative is to support the programs of UNF’s Brooks College of Health and to provide targeted women and girls health education to the greater Jacksonville community. The “Us” Women and Girls’ Health Initiative aims to motivate, educate and engage individuals in the strengthening and delivery of excellence in women and girls’ health care.
