The Program in Civic Ecology, Environmental Justice & Leadership provides clients and students with transformative thinking skills that link the worlds of environmental science, civic engagement, ethics and leadership. This is a softer environmental science program in which students will participate with citizen clients from urban and rural neighborhoods seeking environmental justice by influencing attitudes and behaviors of the median voter in their complex communities. The Florida Center for Public & International Policy assists these communities to address their root problems by deepening their: 1) ecological literacy, 2) political education, 3) social action skills and 4) organization development competencies. In many cases these projects will be conducted in partnership with the harder environmental science provided by the UNF Environmental Center.
