Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

General Information

The TEAS, developed by Assessment Technologies, Inc. (ATI), is an assessment of basic knowledge in reading comprehension, mathematics, science, and English.  TEAS is the required Nursing Admissions entrance exam for Regular Prelicensure and Accelerated Prelicensure BSN tracks.  TEAS is also the required entrance examination for the Exercise Science Track in the Department of Clinical and Movement Sciences.   TEAS testing at the Office of Academic Testing is available to both UNF program applicants and students applying to programs at other institutions.

Testing Hours

TEAS testing is available on various weekdays by appointment only.  Appointments must be scheduled in advance.  UNF applicants may take the TEAS once every 30 days, up to 4 times in any 12 month period.  Applicants to other schools will need to check their institution of application's retake policy.  

 

Submit an online appointment request here.  Appointments may also be scheduled in person at the Office of Academic Testing.  Proof of administration fee payment is required to schedule an appointment.  Appointment times (8:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.) on requested dates are assigned by the Office of Academic Testing.

 

Fees

The administration fee for UNF program applicants is $25.  The administration fee for examinees who are not applying to a UNF program is $35.  The ATI test fee is $35 for all examinees.

 

Administration fee payment:

Administration fees are non-refundable.  

 

The $35 testing fee is payable to ATI by credit card at the beginning of the TEAS test administration.

Before Your appointment

 

Create an account on the Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC (ATI) website using your institution of application.

 

The Day of Your TEAS appointment

 

Report to the Office of Academic Testing 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.

 

Required items to bring to TEAS administration:

  1. Valid government issued photo and signature bearing identification (Driver's license, State ID, or Passport)
  2. Credit card to pay $35 ATI TEAS test fee
  3. Your ATI account information

Prohibited Items

 

The following items are prohibited during the exam and should not be brought to the test center. Prohibited items must be placed in a designated location until the conclusion of the exam:

  • Book bags, knapsacks, and large purses
  • Food and drink
  • Calculators
  • Pens (pencils are permitted and will also be available the day of the exam)
  • Visual and audio recording devices
  • Beeping timepieces
  • Cell phones, laptops, PDAs, iPods/MP3 players, CD players, Walkmans, and any other electronic or digital devices
  • Hats/hoods/headcoverings (except religious apparel) may not be worn on the head
  • Books, newspapers, magazines, notebooks, and loose-leaf paper (scratch paper will be provided)
