Praxis Series Tests

General Information

The Praxis Series Tests, developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), are academic skills assessment tests for teachers. The Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) consists of tests in Reading, Mathematics, and Writing.  These three tests may be taken combined together in a single test session or scheduled individually (with multiple appointments if taking more than one test). The Praxis II Subject Assessments measure knowledge of a wide variety of subjects. The Office of Academic Testing offers the Praxis Series computer-based tests (CBT) year-round.

Testing Hours

Testing is offered Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  The Praxis registration system is available for candidates to schedule, reschedule, or cancel Praxis appointments.

Walk-in testing is not available.

The combined Praxis I PPST fee is $130. Taken separately, the fees are as follows: one test is $80; two tests are $120; and three tests are $160.  Praxis II test fees vary by test, a complete listing is available on the Praxis Test fees Web page

Praxis Series test fees are payable to ETS by check, money order, American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, or Visa. If test fee is paid by check or money order, the payment must be sent via mail following the instructions here.
