Student Involvement

African American Student Union
The African American Student Union is responsible for the development and implementation of cultural enrichment through activities and educational workshops that reflect the various interests of the University of North Florida student body with a special focus on the African American culture. We do stress, however, that it is a culturally based organization open to all ethnic groups.

Club Alliance
Club Alliance assists with and oversees the maintenance of University of North Florida registered student clubs and organizations by bringing unity and excelling in greatness as well as assisting in programming, planning and development. UNF has over 175 registered student organizations.

Gameroom
The gameroom offers to the students more than 180 video games, 2 ping pong tables, 67 bordgames, and 4 pool tables. It is also a place to hang-out with friends. Friendly tournaments and funny-games are organized during the year.

Interfaith Center
The Interfaith Center’s mission is to care for the individual, and to lead, education and advocate the expression of religious faith and core values. The Interfaith Center strongly emphasizes leadership, character, and integrity as qualities basic for students’ discovery and practice. As well as providing the contact information for a variety of faith tradition resources on and off campus, the Interfaith Center provides campus wide activities such as Religious Awareness Week and International Dinners.

LGBT Resource Center
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center’s mission is to provide valuable education and resources for the entire campus community with a commitment to advocacy, equality, respect, and support for LGBT students, faculty, and staff. The staff works to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students to discuss their concerns through support groups or individual appointments, as well as collaborating with other campus offices to respond sensitively and effectively to instances of discrimination or harassment based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity.

International Center
The International Center serves two broad groups of students. For domestic students, the Center provides information about Study Abroad opportunities. For international students, the Center assist students in maintaining legal status while studying at UNF and provides programs, activities, and services that address the specific needs of international students.

Intercultural Center for the PEACE
The Intercultural Center for PEACE (Promotion Education and Advancement of Cultures and Ethnicities) promotes civility and respect for the dignity and worth of each individual at the University of North Florida. They encourage peace through cultural diversity, educate and advance the understanding of cultures and ethnicities, and foster a sense of communal relationships among all UNF students.

Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life
Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of North Florida offers a whole new experience of true friendships, camaraderie, academic support and achievement, active leadership involvement, community service, fun social events, athletic involvement, and very exciting times! Students of all backgrounds and cultures have found a place for themselves and thrived within the University's fraternities and sororities, organizations that stand for pillars such as fellowship, scholarship, leadership, service and athletics. The University of North Florida hosts 23 Greek-lettered organizations on campus made up of five National Panhellenic Council sororities, seven Inter-Fraternity.

Office of the Vice President for Student and International Affairs
At the University of North Florida, students are our first priority. We know you are here first and foremost to learn and to earn a degree. We also realize there is a lot more to a meaningful college experience than just academics, and that’s where the Division of Student Affairs comes in. We have assembled a cadre of resources to address the many opportunities you have to learn and grow outside the classroom, to help you stay fit physically and mentally, and to deal with many of the challenges you face coming into college and leaving it to face the world. And to have some fun in the process.

Osprey productions
Osprey Productions, an agency of Student Government at the University of North Florida, is the University's student-run programming board. OP is responsible for providing a wide variety of on-campus entertainment to students, including weekly movie screenings, karaoke nights, concerts, comedy shows, open mic nights, and much more.

Osprey Radio
Osprey Radio is the University of North Florida's student-run radio station. While serving the target audience, the UNF community, Osprey Radio also provides a unique opportunity for the students to learn about radio in a fun professionally inspired environment.

Osprey Television
Osprey Television is University of North Florida’s student-run television station. Our mission is to provide students with the basic knowledge, skills and competencies required to operate a successful and professional college television station while complementing their classroom education and learning marketable skills. We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on Channel 118 within the UNF campus.

Spinnaker
Spinnaker is the official newspaper of the University of North Florida. It awarded first place for best of show in 2005 and second place in 2008 at the National College Media Convention by the Associated Press.

Student Government
Student Government serves as the governing body responsible for representing student interests and addressing student needs on matters of University, local, state, and/or national concerns. They are comprised of members devoted to serving the student body with pride and excellence. Student Government actively works to meet the needs of students and to enhance the quality of campus life. They do this through hosting a variety of programs and funding student organizations. Student Government affects the quality of student life by providing students with many opportunities for involvement in ways that allow them to have an input into the decision-making processes.

Volunteer Center

We promote community service on the campus by providing a variety of programs, committees, events, and projects (new and continuous) throughout the school year. It is our goal to connect you, the student, with community organizations to display your talents, interests, and desire for volunteering. We are confident that through your experience with UNFVC, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience, meet new people and contribute to your community, all while having a great time!
We enhance the quality of life on campus and in our community through service, lending a hand where needed.
