English Language Skills Tutoring at the ACE
The Academic Center for Excellence now has several English Language Skills tutors on duty to help students who wish to improve their skills in the English language.
- Mondays, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Thursdays, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
These tutors are graduate students in the College of Education who are studying Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and they will work intensively with students who are struggling with specific, recurring issues in English grammar and mechanics in their class work. We do have regular writing tutors available Mondays through Thursdays, 9 to 5, and Fridays, 9 to 2, but for students who are non-native speakers of English and who are having language difficulties, we recommend that they work with one of our English Language Skills tutors first.
Please encourage any students you encounter to take advantage of this service.

New Ways for UNF Parents to Communicate are now Available
UNF Parent Association is now a group on Facebook. You are invited to share with other UNF parents. We will also use this to communicate parent association events and other university news.
A “Parent Share” link has been added to the side bar on this Parents Association web site. Many of you have called asking how to post rides for your students. Currently there is no way to do this on campus so we hope this will help you find riders, roommates, and other postings. The instructions are posted. Send your request, and if appropriate, it will be posted. To protect you, the response should be with a “n number” so you will know it is a response from a UNF parent or student.
Revised Code of Conduct
Effective Friday January 1, a revised version of the Student Code of Conduct will go into effect. The changes include extending the time for a sanction letter to be sent to the charged student from 10 to 14 business days. The hearing administrator or panel will make a recommendation to the vice president of International and Student Affairs in regard to a sanction, and a student will be required to self-report to Student Affairs if convicted and/or charged with a criminal offense, other than a misdemeanor traffic offense. For any questions regarding the Student code of Conduct, contact Dr. Lindsay Bryant at lbryant@unf.edu or (904) 620-3979.
