Graduation Requirements

  • Contact your advisor to verify that you have completed your program of study and satisfied all graduation requirements. If you have completed courses at other institutions, the UNF Admissions Office must receive official transcripts by the date specified above. If you were enrolled at another institution while concurrently enrolled at UNF, a Concurrent Enrollment form must be on file in the One Stop Student Services Center.
  • If there are any grades of incomplete on your academic record, the course work must be completed and the official Change of Grade form must be submitted to the One Stop Student Services Center.

  • You are required to apply for graduation during the first month of the term in which you expect to graduate. Failure to apply for graduation within the first month of the term may affect your ability to graduate that term and will result in the delay of your diploma. Applications are available on the web or from the One Stop Student Services Center.

Caps and Gowns

  • Caps and gowns, graduation announcements, class rings, and diploma frames are available at the UNF Bookstore. Packaged specials are available during the Graduation Celebration (times advertised on campus). Contact the Bookstore at 904-620-2665 or visit the Bookstore Web site for more information.
Commencement Ceremony
  • For Fall and Spring terms, the commencement ceremony will be held at the UNF Arena (building 34); times will be announced at a later date. The Summer term ceremony will be held on August 1, 2008 at 3:00pm. Graduates must report to the Arena one hour before their respective ceremony to be in place for the processional. The Arena will be open to guests an hour before the ceremony.
  • Because the Commencement Ceremony is held before final grades are posted, participation in commencement does not indicate the completion and awarding of a degree.
  • Students receiving Associates of Arts degrees do not participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
  • All commencement guests are required to have tickets, which are available through the UNF Ticket Box Office. The Ticket Box Office is located in building 45, room 1400 and can be reached by telephone at (904) 620-2878. The amount of tickets each candidate receives is limited by the Arena's seating capacity and by the number of graduates participating in the ceremony. Graduates who do not live in the Jacksonville area may send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the UNF Ticket Box Office to receive their tickets.
  • A VHS cassette or a DVD of the Commencement Ceremony may be ordered from the office of Marketing and Publications. To order, please specify which ceremony and term, and send a check in the amount of $30.00 for a VHS cassette or $40.00 for a DVD payable and addressed to:
UNF Office of Marketing and Publications
1 UNF Drive
Jacksonville, FL 32224

Please include your return address on the check.
