Aquatic Center Birthday Parties

Let us host your child's birthday party today!
Here at the UNF Aquatic Center, we've put together a new way to celebrate your child’s birthday.  Here are a few options to help you enjoy the party without getting overwhelmed:

• 2 party packages to choose from
• 2 hours of pool time with a lifeguard on duty
• 1 hour of classroom use for food and presents
• Generous reserved portion of the shallow end of an indoor pool with a temperature of 83º F degrees
• Party Assistant to supervise and entertain your guest with water games (available with Splash 2)
• Party Assistant can assist with party details such as picking up the birthday cake, providing the paper goods & decorations, and cleaning afterward (available with Splash 2)

Age Restriction

Birthday parties are available for booking, children turning 7 years old and up.  This age minimum is determined for safety purposes based on these two factors: 

(1) The shallow end is 4 feet deep &  (2) Any guest who are under 6 years old or who are non-swimmers, an adult must be in the water to assist them at all times.

 Birthday Cake:  The birthday cake option in Splash 2 is a pick-up service provided by Aquatics staff.  You pick out the cake and we'll pick it up! This convenient extra allows you to select a cake from Sam's Club Bakery. Complete the Cake Order Form with your reservation. Price varies based on cake selection, but generally start at $15.

Paper goods & decoration:  Let us take care of these utensils for you. Includes tablecloth, plastic silverwear, plates, cups, napkins, and 1 juice box per guest. Simple party decorations also included. The Party Assistant will take care of setting up the classroom with these paper goods and decorations. Add-on this extra for only $15.

Facility

Pool Area:  A generous portion of the shallow end will be reserved exclusively for your party. If available, one of the diving boards may be used (use of the diving board is not exclusive to your group).  Participants wishing to use the diving board must first pass a swim test administered by the lifeguard.  The swim test consists of swimming approximately 25 yards on top of the water without stopping. 

Classroom: The classroom contains one banquet-size table and twenty student desks.  Classroom size comfortably accommodates twenty-five people.  (Additional seating and folding tables are available upon request).  You may decorate and arrange the room anyway you wish.  The classroom should be used for all food consumption.  The Aquatic Center does not provide food for the party.  Many families choose to have pizza delivered here. You are responsible for cleaning the classroom and putting it back to its original arrangement.  A vacuum cleaner will be provided. The Splash 2 package includes decorating prior to the party, cleaning after the party, and the presence of the Party Assistant during the party. (Included in Splash 1 & Splash 2)

Kitchen: Asmall kitchen is located across the hall from the classroom.  It contains a refrigerator, freezer, and sink.  You are welcome to use this area.  

Pool Rules

A listing of the pool rules is available online.  Please print them and become familiar with them.  At the beginning of the party, a lifeguard will review the most important rules with your whole group. 

Note: The water is a minimum of four feet deep.  All non-swimmers should be accompanied by an adult in the water. 
 

 Sign in & Payment

On the day of the party, the host parent is required to sign the group’s name “Sign-In Sheet” located at the front desk.  On the sheet you will write in the total number of participants (children and adults) entering the pool.  This number can be provided once all participants have arrived.  Also, it is necessary for the adults who plan to enter the pool to personally sign their names on the “Daily Sign-In Sheet”.  This serves as their waiver form.

Cancellation

If you decide to cancel your party, please notify the Aquatic Center as far in advance as possible.

Parking

The most convenient parking is in Lot 5T, the shingle-top lot in front of the tennis courts.  Parking is also available in Lot 4 and levels 2, 3, and 4 of the parking garage.  Permits are not required on Saturdays and Sundays.  If your party is held during the week, each vehicle must stop at the UNF Information Booth (located at each campus entrance) and purchase a $3.00 parking permit.
