About the Facility
The
UNF Aquatic Center opened its doors to both the campus and the greater
Jacksonville community in December 1988. Since then, the facility has developed
the membership base and quality programming necessary to become one of the
premier indoor, year-round aquatics facilities in Northeast Florida. In 2001,
we welcomed the Division I UNF Women’s Swimming and Diving team and became
their home pool for training and swim meets.
Today, the Aquatic Center is home to several year-round and seasonal rental
groups. We are a key provider of American Red Cross programming like swim
lessons, lifeguarding, and CPR certification courses. We also provide aquatic
recreation opportunities for both UNF students and the greater Jacksonville
community. In addition, we offer employment and leadership development
opportunities for UNF students. We are the UNF Aquatic Center, come swim with
us.
Mission Statement
To promote water safety and serve the aquatic needs
of the university community including D-1 athletics, physical education,
general recreation, and when possible, to generate revenue through usage by the
greater Jacksonville and Northeast Florida community.
