‘Go Big and Come Home’ for UNF’s Homecoming Celebration

The University of North Florida will celebrate its annual homecoming Saturday, Feb. 13, through Saturday, Feb. 20, with a variety of lively and fun events for fellow Ospreys, family and friends. This year’s theme is “Go Big and Come Home” and here are some of the upcoming activities:

 

Comedy Show Featuring Nick Kroll and John Mulaney

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13

Arena, Building 34

 

Free admission for current UNF students with a valid Osprey1 Card; $30 for alumni with offer code available here; $35 for general public through the UNF Ticket Box Office
This event is for ages 18 years and older, unless a UNF student or accompanied by a parent.

Nick Kroll is recognized for his role in the television series "The League," and John Mulaney is best known as a writer for "Saturday Night Live."  

 

Mr. and Ms. UNF Pageant

7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15

Andrew J. Robinson Jr. Theater, Building 14A

Free

 

The Mr. and Ms. UNF Pageant will feature contestants who will compete in various categories, including formal wear, talent and UNF spirit. The top three finalists will be announced at this event and crowned during the men’s basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 18.

 

1972 Emeriti and Friends Luncheon

University alumni, faculty and staff in their retirement years are invited to a complimentary lunch and special entertainment.

 

Alumni Recognition Dinner and Awards Ceremony

Alumni will be recognized for their exemplary service and contributions to UNF. The evening includes a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner and awards ceremony. 

 

Lip Sync

8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17

Lazzara Performance Hall, Fine Arts Center, Building 45, Room 110

Free

 

Watch teams dance and lip sync for a chance to win this year’s trophy. No bags will be allowed.

 

Men’s Basketball Versus New Jersey Institute of Technology

UNF fore Scholarships Golf Classic

A captain’s choice 18-hole scramble, the Classic is a fundraiser that directly benefits UNF student scholarships. More information is available on the event page.

 

Can Castle Competition

Supporting the University’s student-run Lend-a-Wing Pantry, competitors will be judged on overall look, use of space, UNF theme and creativity.

Blue and Gray Bash

A taste-of-the-town event with live music, food and beverages from local restaurants, and a silent and live auction with numerous items including a sunset cruise on a 62-foot yacht as well as a half-day fishing trip. Attire is casual chic. Deadline to purchase tickets is Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Swoop the Loop 5K/Fun Run

Run through UNF’s beautiful campus. This event benefits UNF student scholarships and Lend-A-Wing Pantry.

 

Athletics Hall of Fame Luncheon/Induction Ceremony

The annual student homecoming tailgate where teams will decorate the backs of cars and trucks to be judged based on UNF spirit/creativity.

Family friendly alumni event that includes free food, refreshments, live music, a photo booth, face painting and more. Visit tents from various colleges/departments within the University.

The official Homecoming game and the return of the 6th man, a special ticket package for alumni. Attendees are encouraged to show Osprey pride and wear blue for a “Blue Out.”
