Department of Public Relations
The University of North Florida’s Department of English will present a staged reading of “Voices, Word for Word: Juvenile Justice, A Community-Based Documentary Playwriting Project” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, and at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Student Union, Building 58 West, Room 3703, on the UNF campus. This event is free and open to the public.
This original one-act documentary play, written by UNF students along with Dr. Pam Monteleone, UNF associate professor of English, represents the culmination of student work based on interviews with members of the Jacksonville community who work in or have been affected by the juvenile justice system, along with public records and other archival documents.
The Dec. 11 performance, featuring UNF students and members of the community, will be followed by a panel discussion, addressing issues raised by the play. For more information, contact the UNF Department of English at (904) 620-2273.
