“A Chair Affair,” a fundraising gala that helps support the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, a cultural resource of the University of North Florida, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, March 12.
“A Chair Affair” will be a night filled with excitement where the museum transforms into a hip, modern and vibrant nightclub, ensuring that the hottest seat in town that night will be at MOCA. Happy Vodka will be pouring the drinks, while Colleen Shannon, the hottest DJ in the country, will be setting the tone on the dance floor with fun surprises for everyone throughout the night.
Tickets are $100 to $250 per person or $50 for anyone 30 years or younger. Proceeds from the ticket sales support MOCA’s mission to serve the community through its exhibitions, collections, educational programs and community outreach initiatives.
These outreach programs include educational lectures from the UNF Art and Design faculty; after school and summer art classes; “Voice of the People,” an interpretive program that features the recorded accounts and descriptions of works of art by students and adults; and “Rainbow Artists,” which uses art and creative activities to promote socialization and social interaction of children with autism.
Gala sponsors include Perdue Office Interiors; Edward Jones Investments – Erin Erias, Financial Advisor; GrayRobinson, P.A.; Happy Vodka; Jacksonville Bank Corp.; Jacksonville Greyhound Racing, Inc.; ParkerVision; PRI Productions, Inc; Sealift Corp.; Casie Simpson Design Studio; Agility Press; Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Levin; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Milam.
