University of North Florida golf coach Scott Schroeder announced today his 2009-10 fall and spring schedules, including UNF’s home tournament, the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 28-March 2 at Sawgrass Country Club.

The fall season will consist of four tournaments and will kick off for the Ospreys on Sept. 12-13 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. UNF will also play at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate (Oct. 3-4; Tampa, Fla.), the Brickyard Collegiate Championship (Oct. 10-12; Macon, Ga.) and the David Toms Intercollegiate (Oct. 26-27; Baton Rouge, La.).

The addition to the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, the spring season has six other tournaments and wraps up with the Atlantic Sun Championships on April 19-21 at the Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort in Braselton, Ga. Kennesaw State is the host school. The spring portion of the schedule begins Feb. 13-14 at the Gator Fall Intercollegiate in Gainesville, Fla.

An A-Sun Championship would qualify the Ospreys for the NCAA Regionals (May 20-22) at one of six sites nationally. A high national ranking would also give UNF an at-large bid into the regionals. The NCAA Championships are June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.

“The schedule is going to be very challenging this year,” said Schroeder. “It should be ranked about 50th in the country in difficulty.  I really like how many really good schools we get to play during the year.  I also like that we will play a lot of events within about four hours from campus.  This will allow us to have more family and friends come out to watch the guys play.  It should be a fun year to be a part of the program.”
