Expert on Bankruptcy

U.S. Air Force Reserve -- Jazz Ensemble


The nationally acclaimed United States Air Force Reserve Jazz Ensemble will perform a free concert on Friday, Jan.25, at 7 p.m. in the Robinson Theater. The 15-member ensemble will present selections ranging from original compositions by today's most esteemed composers/arrangers, to the familiar sounds of the big band era. Under the direction of Senior Master Sergeant James Larimer, the group has performed throughout the U.S. and overseas including Puerto Rico, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Panama, Japan and Korea. All members of the ensemble are professional U. S. Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Force Reserve.



Best of Jacksonville


The March of Dimes’ Fifth Annual Best of Jacksonville party will be Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. in the University Center. There will be food, fun, and entertainment as Jacksonville’s favorite people and places come together to showcase their specialties. Tickets can be purchased for $15 in advance and $20 at the door by calling the March of Dimes at 398-2821.



Music at Midday


Music at Midday Concert Series will feature Scott Watkins, piano, in an all-Bach solo recital on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 12:15 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Small Recital Hall. Admission if free.




Homecoming Comedians


The Daily Show's Lewis Black and Talk Soup's Aisha Tyler will perform at the UNF Arena on Friday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. as the featured comedians for Homecoming 2002. Black appears every Tuesday with his satiric "Back in Black" reports on The Daily Show and is also a regular guest on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Tyler is the young, hip host of E Television's irreverent spoof of television talk shows, Talk Soup, and also regularly performs standup in LA's comedy clubs.


Tickets are $7 for UNF and FCCJ students with valid IDs, and are available on a cash-only basis at the University Ticket Box Office upstairs in Building 2. Tickets are also available to the public for $10 online at ticketmaster.com or at any TicketMaster ticket center including Camelot Music, Smash Music, Caribbean Connection, and Coconuts, or charge-by-phone at 353-3309. All seating is general admission. Doors open at 7 p.m. Aisha Tyler takes the stage at 8 p.m. 8 p.m. with Lewis Black at 9 p.m.
