Student Life

At UNF, students are our first priority. There are plenty of opportunities for UNF Ospreys to get involved in activities that complement the classroom experience. Students can:

  • Participate in our unique student leadership initiative — the Taylor Leadership Institute
  • Join one of the more than 200 clubs and organizations
  • Belong to one of the many fraternities or sororities
  • Live in one of our six residence hall complexes
  • Cheer for our 19 NCAA Division I sports teams.
To help students realize their educational dreams, we have assembled an array of programs, extracurricular activities and events to make the most of their experience on campus.
  • The Spinnaker, the University’s student-run media organization, received a 2013 Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press, often referred to as the Pulitzer Prize for college journalism.
  • UNF’s Athletics Department is on the rise. In 2013, UNF claimed six Atlantic Sun Conference championships and just missed out on four other conference championships. Also, standout golfer Kevin Phelan was one of just four amateurs to make the cut at the U.S. Open Championship. Additionally, UNF’s baseball team had three current players drafted in the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
  • UNF’s Student Government senators oversee the allocation of about $4.5 million in the Activity and Service Fee Budget while representing student concerns in all University-wide matters.
