I.                   OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE

The purpose of this regulation is to set forth current tuition and fee amounts per credit hour that students will be assessed during the Fall 2012 and Spring/Summer 2013 terms.

 

II.                STATEMENT OF REGULATION

 

(1)  Tuition shall be defined as fees assessed to a student for enrollment in credit courses at the University of North Florida, in accordance with law, rules and policies of the Board of Governors and the University of North Florida Board of Trustees. Tuition consists of the following fees, depending on whether a student is a resident or a non-resident

 

(a)  Resident tuition, comprised of the following, shall be defined as the fees charged an enrolled student who qualifies as a Florida resident as defined in applicable Florida laws and regulations:

 

  1. Tuition;
  2. Tuition Differential Fee[1];
  3. Student Financial Aid Fee;
  4. Capital Improvement Trust Fund Fee;
  5. Health Fee (which includes the Clinic, Counseling,   Wellness and Medical Compliance Fees);
  6. Athletic Fee;
  7. Activity and Service Fee;      
  8. Transportation Access Fee;
  9. Technology Fee, and
  10. Student Life and Services Fee.

(b)  Out-of-State fees comprised of the following, shall be defined as the fees charged an enrolled student who does not qualify as a Florida resident as defined in applicable Florida laws and regulations:

  1. Tuition;
  2. Tuition Differential Fee[2]
  3. Out-of-State Fee;
  4. Student Financial Aid Fee;
  5. Non-Resident Student Financial Aid Fee;
  6. Capital Improvement Trust Fund Fee;
  7. Health Fee (which includes the Clinic, Counseling,   Wellness and Medical Compliance Fees);
  8. Athletic Fee; 
  9. Activity and Service Fee;
  10. Transportation Access Fee;
  11. Technology Fee, and
  12. Student Life and Services Fee.

(2)  The following tuition shall be levied and collected effective for the Fall 2012 and Spring/Summer 2013 semesters for each student regularly enrolled, unless provided otherwise by law or in this chapter.

(c)  Graduate non-resident Distance Learning Sign Language Interpreter Training will be assessed the following fees per credit hour:

(c) Pursuant to Section 1009.285 F.S., each student enrolled in the same undergraduate course more than twice, shall be assessed an additional $159.87 per credit hour charge in addition to the fees outlined above in paragraph (2)(a) for each course. Students entering the University in 2012-2013 shall pay a fee equal to 100 percent of tuition for each credit hour in excess of 115%.

[1] Students in attendance at the University prior to July 1, 2007, and who maintain continuous enrollment, may not be charged the tuition differential fee.  Beneficiaries having prepaid tuition contracts in the Prepaid College Tuition Program, in effect on July 1, 2007, are exempt from the payment of the tuition differential fee.  The tuition differential fee is not covered by Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
