Service Defined

Community service or outreach is defined as activity undertaken by UNF faculty, staff or students for whom the benefit is either reciprocal for both parties (at minimum) or primarily directed at non-UNF stakeholders. A service-learning project, for example, in which students work with community stakeholders, would have reciprocal benefit to both UNF students and employers. The many funding drives sponsored by UNF benefiting non-UNF community groups, however, would be an example of non-reciprocal outreach. UNF is deeply committed to undertaking all kinds of outreach and to serving the larger community and region.
