Possible Goose Solution Feedback

Start Date:
2016-12-05
End Date:
2016-12-12
Headline: Possible Goose Solution Feedback
Description:

The University is considering hiring a goose control company that would use trained border collies to move the Canada geese away from the University's heavy traffic areas to nesting areas on the perimeter of campus. This process would not harm the geese but would eliminate the health hazard posed by geese droppings on campus walkways and in waterways. The use of border collies is considered a humane way to control Canada geese and is sanctioned by many organizations, including the USDA Wildlife Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, the Humane Society and PETA. The company's techniques safeguard the geese as well as pedestrians, bystanders and the dogs. More details are available in the most recent Inside newsletter on the UNF website. Send feedback about this possible solution by e-mail.
