Update Wi-Fi Devices

Start Date:
2017-10-17
End Date:
2017-10-27
Headline: Update Wi-Fi Devices
Description:

A critical vulnerability affecting Wi-Fi authentication, nicknamed KRACK, was publicly disclosed  by a cybersecurity researcher. This vulnerability impacts all home and business wireless access across the internet. It is significant as it affects almost every device using WPA2, the most commonly used method of Wi-Fi encryption. This includes smartphones, laptops, tablets and home devices such as wireless routers. It isn't like other attacks, which spread over the internet or via infected emails. One limitation is this attack requires physical proximity to your wireless device. Microsoft has already released a fix for users of their software and other vendors are following suit. Monitor for and apply software updates to your Wi-Fi connected devices as they become available.  When using a public Wi-Fi spot, stick to websites that start with "https" the "s" being key. If you have a home Wi-Fi router, update its software as soon as your vendor releases the patch.
